The Neurotrauma and Psychological Health Project Management Office formed in May 2011 in recognition of a need to support advanced development of materiel and select non-materiel (Medical Knowledge) products to protect, sustain and restore function for our Service Members with Traumatic Brain Injury and Posttraumatic Stress Disorder.
NPH provides pro-active advanced development management of suitably mature materiel products for the treatment and diagnosis of Neurotrauma and Psychological Health conditions, such as TBI, PTSD, and suicide prevention that may require US FDA licensing or approval. NPH also supports the development of non-materiel medical products that produce knowledge for a variety of purposes including informing clinical practice. The PMO provides core competencies such as clinical trial design, oversight and management, regulatory expertise and focused program management, to support the development and fielding of Neurotrauma and Psychological Health products.
NPH PMO currently supports the development of biomarkers for TBI, clinical drugs and therapies to treat TBI and novel treatments for PTSD and other Psychological Health conditions. NPH PMO works closely with various offices within the US Army Medical Research and Materiel Command as well as other DOD organizations and sister Services. Most notable is our close relationship with the Combat Casualty Care and Military Operational Medicine Research Program Committees to ensure the advanced development programs closely align to established and validated requirements.
